Peter Pan

I've watched the "Hook" movie on YouTube recently. I know I've watched it a couple of times before when I was a little kid, but it feels different watching it as a teenager. The movie is about Peter who has grown up, forgotten about his life in Never Land, and has a wife and children of his own. While the family is in London visiting a now elderly Wendy, Captain Hook abducts Peter's children to lure him back for a final duel. Peter has to find a way to remember how to be Peter Pan again in order to save his children. The movie was really good, and on some points, it made me cry. The movie teaches us about how we become adult without forgetting our childhood. In this movie Peter was pushed to remember his childhood, to be Peter Pan again, whom has long forgotten.
From this movie I developed some kind of interest with Peter Pan stuffs, so, following my nerd instinct, I searched for another movie, a 2003 released, "Peter Pan". The story is brought from the original novel by J.M. Barrie "Peter and Wendy" where Peter brings Wendy and her brothers to Never Land, where he has a climatic showdown with his nemesis, Captain Hook. And by the way, the guy who played as Peter was so cute. His name is Jeremy Sumpter. He's all grown-up now. But, let's not talk about him. The movie was epic. I have no idea how come I didn't get to see the movie before as it is a 2003 released. So, the conclusion was, all Peter Pan movies are epic. I gotta find about its origin, the history of the Peter Pan character, and the story. Who has made this to be so legendary and widely-known all over the world? And so I started to find out more...

Peter Pan is a character created by scottish novelist and playwright J.M. Barrie (1860-1937). a mischievous boy who can fly and magically refuses to grow up, Peter Pan spends his never-ending childhood adventure on the small island of Never Land as the leader of his gang the Lost Boys, interacting with mermaids, Indians, fairies, pirates, and (from time to time) meeting ordinary children from the world outside.
Peter Pan was originally the main character of a play and a novel. I have no idea why they used this name for a pop-rock band, which has absolutely no relation with any "Peter", "Pan", or something that related to "The Boy who Wouldn't Grow Up". I mean, all the members are adult, and they sings adult songs, like, love. I still can understand if the members are children. Ok, continue.
Peter Pan first appeared in a section of "The Little White Bird", a 1902 novel written by Barrie for adults. The character's best-known adventure debuted on 27 December 1904, in the stage play "Peter Pan, or the Boy who Wouldn't Grow Up". The play was adapted and expanded somewhat as a novel, published in 1911 as "Peter and Wendy" (later as Peter Pan, and still later as simply Peter Pan).
Following the highly successful debut of the 1904 play, Barrie's publishers, Hodder and Stoughton, extracted chapter 13-18 of "The Little White Bird" and republished them in 1906 under the title "Peter Pan in Kensington Gardens", with the addition of illustrations by Arthur Rackham.
Peter Pan has appeared in number of adaptations, sequels, and prequels since then, including the widely known 1953 animated feature film "Walt Disney's Peter Pan", various stage musicals, live-action feature films "Hook" (1991) and "Peter Pan" (2003) and the authorized sequel novel "Peter Pan in Scarlet" (2006). He has also appeared in various works not authorized by the holders of the character's copyright, which has lansed in most parts of the world.
For the appearance of him, Barrie never described it in detail, even in the novel "Peter and Wendy". leaving much to it to the imagination of the reader and the interpretation of anyone adopting the character. Peter Pan is described in the novel as a young boy who still has all his first teeth; he wears clothes made of hemp, and he is the only boy able to fly without the help of fairy dust, and he can play the flute. Barrie describes him as a beautiful boy with a beautiful smile, "clad in skeleton leaves and the juices that flow from trees". In the play, Peter's outfit is made of autumn leaves and cobwebs. His name and playing the flute vaguely suggest the mythological character Pan (as for Pan, the Greek mythological god of nature). Peter is afraid of nothing except mothers, but he loves Wendy; however, it's not a romantic love---he thinks of her as his mother. I know, it's complicated. I don't understand about it either. He's afraid of mothers, yet he chooses Wendy as his mother, and loves her... That's just one heck of a story.

Now what did I say earlier? He's really cute, isn't he?

Damn Quick Post

Gue pernah. Lebih dari pernah malah. Sering. It feels like, kenapa, kenapa, kenapa waktu itu aku kayak gituuuuu? *gemes* Malu-maluin banget siiiiiiih. Rasanya malu. Banget. Sampai. Kepingin. Pingsan. Tapi ngesoknya minta ampun.

Kalo di Indonesia sih judulnya "Her Idol Boy". Cowoknya ganteng, gitu. Gambarnya juga bagus, proporsional lah menurut gue, matanya juga gak lebay (apa maksudnya?) Pokoknya nggak seperti gambar shoujo manga kebanyakan. Gambarnya kaku, terus kalo cowok tuh lehernya panjang, lebar, matanya tajem terus ceweknya matanya gede banget berkilau-kilau.

Nggak tau kenapa yang satu ini beda. Apa mata gua yang aneh, pokoknya gua rada terpesonalah. Gua ambillah satu.

Malahan walaupun komiknya garing, asal gambarnya bagus, gua betah bacanya. Lanjut.

Nggak asyik kalo bermain tapi Kako nggak ketawa kan, kata Kosei. Semuanya demi Kako. Dia ingin Kako mencegahnya untuk pindah, ketahuan banget kalo dia ingin ngerasa dubutuhin oleh Kako. Yang pas ini so sweet banget :P

Tapi dasar Kako bodoh... dia malah pergi dan marah sama Kosei. Lakukan semaumu, katanya. Dia nggak ngerti maksud di balik ucapan Kosei. Yah, gambaran umumnya sih kayak gitu. Memang masih alur khas shoujo manga sih, tapi ini salah satu shoujo manga yang gua suka lho. Jarang-jarang gua suka shoujo manga kayak gini. Ceritanya lucu, gambarnya bagus, alurnya juga enak ngikutinnya. Banyak ada kejadian-kejadian menarik. Kepribadian tokoh-tokohnya juga kerasa banget. Gak kecewa gua beli komik ini... lumayanlah buat ngabisin waktu liburan.

Nurarihyon no Mago

One of the best manga I've ever read and one of my most favorites. The story is about Nura Rikuo, a 3/4 human and 1/4 yokai (demon). He lives in a house full of spirits with his yokai grandfather, Nurarihyon, the current clan head of the Nura Clan. Rikuo is set to be the next clan head, despite the fact he dislikes his demon side. He soon come to terms with his demon blood and decides to take his position as the young master of the Nura house.---that's enough for background.
The first manga that got me impressed was Katekyo Hitman Reborn!. Sure, I read Naruto and Conan and all that in my early years of knowing manga, and I like all of them. I followed the story, I read every updated chapters, but I didn't get this feeling I have for Reborn!. I totally fell in love with this manga. And I still love it until now. The guys are just so cool! (AND hot at the same time) And then there's Ao no Exorcist, it was published some time after Nura Mago, and I love it the same way as Reborn. (But Rin will always have a special place in my heart!! Kyaa! Kyaa!) I like both of them, equally. Well maybe Ao no Exorcist better. But the feeling I got from reading Nura Mago is a bit different, it gives off more spiritual aura compared to Reborn&Ao. I get real excited everytime I read it. Not that I like it better than the two I mentioned earlier. This one's just got a different aura all over it. It's partly because the main protagonist's (aka Rikuo) splendid personality. He is one person at day and another at night (sounds scizophrenic right, but trust me the transition phase is really cool). He can be clumsy, yet he can be so graceful. Not to mention his handsome-ness in his night form...waaa... *nosebleed* *fainted*
To tell you the truth, the first time I read the chapter, I wasn't impressed with it at all. I didn't get the story. "What the heck is this!? You're 1/4 yokai and yet you're wearing glasses?! What's the point of being part demon if you're just end up as a weakling nerd??!", that was some bad impression man, I thought he was some kind like Inuyasha or something. You know, bad boy half-demon overload. But nooooo. I got a nerd with glasses. Idk, Rikuo's first appearence was just totally uncool. I thought he was a loser, like Tsuna's reborn (which, luckily, he wasn't). His face was pretty cute, though. But then I decided to continue reading. I read it with so many questions popped out of my head. How did a story like this become so popular? I really don't get it, I wonder in my thought. But then I found the answer. I got my first kickin' impression when Rikuo transformed into his yokai form. That was so damn cool it left me in awe, ladies and gentlemen. I mean, not only his face changed, his personality also. It's like he's a whole lot different person. I trembled with excitement (I'm sorry if this is a bit dramatic, ok, overly dramatic). So this was the thing that has made this series so popular. No wonder. Then I continued to read. And the story became even more and more cooler...well what do you know... And I actually fell in love with the series without even realizing...
Now, Nura-kun is one of my favorite manga characters. I am greatful for having a chance to know this manga. I am greatful that at that time, I decided to continue to read it... Nurarihyon no Mago has became part of my life~~~ Rikuo-kun, I want you to know that I love you so much!!!! I hope we can meet someday... Though it seems impossible...
I'm currently looking for the spoiler of chapter 171. The raw is usually in Chinese, but I don't care. At least I can see the pictures. Well, that's all for now. I don't know what else to write. bye

Tragedi Kebodohan Ani

Jantungnya berdebar, matanya berkaca-kaca, kaki tangan gemetar bersemangat. Akhirnya, saat ini datang juga. Saat yang dinanti-nantikan. Dia akan membeli "itu". Yeah. This is it, baby.
