Of Spidey and Failed Fanart
Ho ho hoo. I'm back, people. Sorry for not updating since Christmas (no one would read this anyway). I went on a vacation with my family. Just got back home yesterday, completely exhausted. Well not really. I am just exaggerating. But that was one interesting vacation. I'll write some about it next time, probably. If I feel like it. Which is most certainly not going to happen. But, who knows, right? Maybe some enlightenment will come to me...maybe.
So here I am, on new year's eve, sitting uselessly, staring blankly--with of course, a vacant expression on my face--at the laptop, typing nonsense in attempt to fill my desolate blog. While other people are busy with their trumpets and fireworks. I know, right. What a pathetic way to spend the last night of the year. But I just don't feel like doing anything tonight. Completely feeling unexcited. So, tomorrow's a new year. Big deal. I'll wake up tomorrow and Spider-Man will still wear tights...
Oh, and talk about Spider-Man. I just read the latest issue on the 700th volume. Apparently, Peter died in Doc Oc's body as he swapped body with him beforehand. Yes, Doc Oc was dying, and Peter was forced to stay in that dreadful body of Otto Octavius, while Doc Oc himself ended up in his body as Spider-Man. Poor Peter. The story's definitely an 'eww', by the way. And I resent the idea of a "Superior Spider-Man" (the stupid name that Doc Oc-in-Peter's-body invented and has decided to call himself). I'm one of those who support "no Peter Parker, no Spider-Man" view (oh how I always hate that clone arc), and the idea of Otto as Spidey is downright infuriating. Amazing Spider-Man series has gotten disappointing lately. I miss the good old 60's ones...
Ehemhmhm. *Clear throat* Sooo enough with the Spidey talks. What to do next? If I still couldn't manage to found a thing to do, I shall die of boredom. Oh yeah, what about finishing that last photoshop project? Nah, too lazy. But, now's the perfect time to finish it. But I can't use photoshop. Danny will look ugly in my hands. But I gotta finished it. Oh the conflict. I did it anyway, but with a half-hearted attempt, making it look like this:
As Percy would say: Oh, gods. I'm such a disgrace for Danny Phantom fandom. Sorry phandom. But! I will have to upload because this is still a record for my improvement. One day I will look at this drawing and laugh at how much of a sucker I am right now...hopefully. And to fill the space in this blog, anyway. I can't seem to find an interesting subject to talk about. Or rather, too lazy to even find one.
I still find difficulties for deciding the shadowy-part, the light direction, and, you know, the darker and lighter parts. I mainly got confused with the hair part. The original sketch was actually pretty good, but with my scrappy ability of inking (you can see the un-smooth-ness) combined with my skill at photoshop, well, you can see the result yourself. I personally more confident with my traditional works, but, you know. One's gotta practice to improve.
Maybe that's all for now. I'll come back to edit this if I had another thing to add, which I don't think will happen at the time being for I will be too busy dozing off. Yeah, I plan to go to sleep tonight. And wake up on January the first. Yay. Happy New Year all!!!! Enjoy your remaining holiday!
Yours sincerely,
Ani the Slacker
